After winning the first game of their double header over Allen Park, 6-3, the Warriors fell behind 9-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning. They rallyed, scoring seven runs to tie the score 9-9. The Warriors sent 12 runners to the plate and with the help of two Jaguar pitcher’s walks , a hit batter, and six timely Warrior hits tied the ballgame. Brad Connochie came on in the sixth and seventh inning to shut down a fine Allen Park hitting ball club. The Warriors had 12 hits in the game and were led by four players who had two hits apiece, Bennett, Tallman, Connochie and Layne Gusler. The Warriors scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth when Tallman led off with a double, Koss singled and came up on a single by Brad connochie. Andrew Dayfield’s two out single brought home Koss with the Warriors 11th run.

Kennedy won 4-2 behind a strong pitching performance from Marcus Doughton who fanned 8 in his complete game victory. Travis Harvey hit two homeruns and a double with 3 RBI to lead the way. The victory raises the Eagles league record to 2-3, Melvindale drops to 0-6.

Strong Titan pitching leads the way over AP, 1-0
Published April 14, 2011 Uncategorized Leave a CommentDevon Bronson and Justin Smith were dominating on the mound for the Titans as they teamed up to throw a 3 hit shut out of the host Jaguars. Bronson racked up 11 strike outs while walking 2 & allowing 3 hits for his 2nd mound victory of the year. Smith earned his 1st save of the year as he threw 3 perfect innings striking out 7 of the 9 batters he faced. The only run of the game came in the top of the 1st inning with 2 outs when Bronson walked, moved to 2nd on a passed ball and scored on a single off the bat of Craig McNees. The Titan pitching staff has not allowed a run in the last 23 innings.
Craig McNees threw a complete game shut out and was 2 for 3 including a 3 run homer totaling 5 RBI for the day. On the mound he struck out 12 while allowing only 1 hit.
On Friday, behind a strong pitching performance by Nick Patten who struck out 9, Kennedy opens up league play 1-0 and is 3-0 overall. Kennedy opened things up with 6 run 2 out rally in the 5th inning that put the Eagles up 9-0.
